Re: Summer Update
Grace and peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ! How can we begin to share with you all of the excitement, hard work, spiritual growth and transformation that has taken place here in West Virginia this summer? Thanks in part to your prayers, your support, and in many cases your hands, there are families in West Virginia who have seen what God's grace look…

I'm glad that I went on the mission trip. It was really fun and I liked it. I liked it when we finished painting Efe may's house to see the smiles on their faces. My favorite part of the mission trip was the first day when we had the bonfire. AIR GUITAR!!!!!!!

Let me tell you, alot of singing and dancing went on this week! It brought back tons of memories for everyone. I just wanted to share all the songs.
The song that was sung on our camp site on Thursday and Friday and at the campfires both night.
"Breakfast"
Newsboys
Hold the milk, put back the sugar
They are powerless to console
WE've gathered here to sprinkle ashes
from our late friend's cereal bowl.
Breakfast Clubbers, say the motto
that he taught us to repeat;
"You will lose it in your gym…

I was just listening to some music while I was posting my last blog. Here are some lyrics that explain the expierence, from every aspect. The workers the one's who's houses we were working on ect... I hope you like them, take them to heart and maybe even listen to the songs. Enjoy.
THE BRAVERY LYRICS
"Believe"
The faces all around me they don't smile they just crack
Waiting for our ship to come but our ships not coming back
We do our time like pennies in a jar
What are we saving for [x2]

Hey guys, It's my first one of these. I feel oh so special. Well, i should :) haha. This week we (sean, caitlin, my dad, frank, and I) headed on down to west virginia for mission 2008. We got there and it was quite dark outside after seeing dead babies (inside joke, they weren't really dead babies) on the side of the road. We chose our rooms play quite a few rounds of uno and headed to bed. I must say cards were a huge thing this week.
Sunday
We woke up and went to church. Thank g…

Today we got back after a very interesting car ride. for the people who were asking about #7 from the first trip log i will elaborate on that now. I don't really know how it started but lance ended up picking mark up and sort of wrestling with him. it ended with him biting makt when he was struggling to get away. it was pretty funny.
1. Lindsey won a free wendy's bag in a raffle in a nameless town in kentucky and gave it to sarah
2. I slept for a long way today
3. kellen took the dead snake o…

well this week has been very interesting. Im sure that you have all read Tylar's blog about working at jamie's house and about his wife Kim. WEll she came home on Wednesday and it was really sad and awkward there. She was tiny..jamie said she weighed about 80 pounds....she really couldnt talk much and it was really sad cause she was like shaking. Its sad cause the girls know everything about their Mom. Its very probable that she will pass on (die) in the next week. Workikng at their house has be…

I just realized I have not given much perspective on the trip yet. Let me start by saying what an awesome group of kids we have. We have not had any real drama and they are working their tails off. I want to set the record straight, I did not trip over second base, but I did tear up my knee pretty good I think - swollen and painful, and now it is locking up on me, but I am still working and having a great time. The adults have impressed me as much as the kids. I am so pleased with how things are…

3. We're about to have a bonfire
4. We painted with Q- tips

Well, we didn't finish the house. We were almost done at like 4:00 when we were told that we had to paint the cement base (and that included scraping it down, which took an extra long time because Craig [the other adult from Indy] had to go back to the church to get wire brushes). So we didn't start until about 4:15. Then we didn't finish until 4:45, so we just packed up and left.
At the house, my dad gave me the video camera and told me to record people working. I did that and also got some sho…

Hello everyone,
Today was a down day, and did we need it. Monday started with great expectation and energy. The projects were many and the effort phenomenal. Tom Berry's expertise in carpentry was used in the removal of windows and framing. Karen Edenhofer over saw painting to complete a project begun by a group from Pennsylvania and Krist Pottorff's and my handyman skills were placed into service on multiple tasks at the same project. Lance oversaw a small army at one project scraping and sand…

On Tuesday we kept painting the house. We have almost finished the second coat (but there are some places that we haven't even done the first coat yet). We'll probably finish on Thursday.
Wednesday was our day off. We got to sleep in an extra hour. The announcement of that was met with much rejoicing.
We went to a coal mine/town and saw what a coal miner's life was like. Afterwards we went to a swimming pool and park. The guard for the slide let us go down in a big chain. It was awesome. Every…
